Molehills are created when moles burrow. They are raised areas in your lawn which loosen the soil. They are the best way to know whether or not you have a mole problem.
Moles like areas enriched by things such as mulch and compost. If you use a lot of either in your yard, there's a good chance you're attracting moles.
Moles also enjoy areas where the ground is enriched with manure. In such a place, there is an abundance of insects to attract the hungry moles.
Sometimes, mole tunnels are visible in your grass. These appear as elongated strips of uprooted soil.
Moles live underground and there may not be any visible signs of their presence. The more they're active and creating molehills, the more likely you are to notice their presence.
