  • Some Sanyo remote controls offer the opportunity to control aux, or auxiliary, devices. These devices may be systems such as satellite dishes or cable boxes. Or you may simply use the aux slot on your Sanyo remote control to send commands to a second DVD player, stereo or other device. However, if your Sanyo remote control has become stuck on the "Aux" setting, you can switch away from this setting to control other devices.

    Selecting Different Modes

The buttons at the top of the Sanyo remote control govern to which device your input is being sent. The easiest way to switch out of aux mode is simply to press the button for another TV, DVD player, stereo or other such device already assigned to the remote control.

    Check Batteries

If your Sanyo remote refuses to control a device other than that set to the "Aux" channel, the problem may be as simple as changing the batteries. Check that the batteries in the remote control are fresh by removing them and testing them in a battery tester or other appliance. If necessary, replace the batteries.

    Check Other Modes

If your Sanyo remote control will send commands only to the "Aux" device, the settings for other devices may be at fault. If necessary, reprogram the remote control for compatibility with other devices. To program the remote control with a new device, hold down the button for the type of device you wish to program. Input the code for your device, found in the Sanyo remote control's manual. If you have lost your manual, you can find codes for the various remote controls manufactured by Sanyo online at remotecodelist.com.
