A baby shower allows family and friends to celebrate the upcoming birth of a baby and give gifts to the mother-to-be for use once the baby arrives. Food and Drinks

You can have the meal catered by your favorite Chinese restaurant, cook the meal yourself or ask each guest to bring their favorite Chinese dish for a potluck-style meal. Consider serving food on Chinese-themed paper plates and providing Chinese-themed cups for drinks. Make sure to provide non-alcoholic drinks, as doctors advise pregnant women against drinking during pregnancy.

Shower Favors

It is considered polite to send guests home with a token of appreciation for attending the baby shower and sharing the experience with the mother-to-be. Paper Chinese takeout boxes are available in most craft stores and make for fun containers to hold a variety of things. You can fill the boxes with a favorite candy, baked goods or even a key chain or other item of your choosing. Consider buying pink or blue takeout boxes depending on if the mother is expecting a baby boy or girl. You can also decorate the boxes with pink or blue ribbon for an added personal touch.
