When paper begins sticking in the printer or smudges come through after a print job, chances are the printer is dirty. There may be lint, dust or clogs, and the best way to remove them is to use a sticky printer-cleaning paper. Running this through the printer will remove the objects quickly so work can continue.
On the Other: Jams Could Indicate a Larger Problem
Depending on the age of the machine, there may be a bigger problem. Dust and lint can cause paper jams, but investing a large amount of money in cleaning paper for an old printer may not be cost effective. In many cases, an old printer should be replaced rather than cleaned.
Bottom Line
If the printer is fairly new and the problem is just a paper jam now and then, printer-cleaning paper could get work started very quickly. It is a good idea to use printer-cleaning paper regularly to keep dust and lint to a minimum, but with older machines, it may be more cost effective to buy a new printer and start from scratch.
