Philosophy's line of skin-care products has shot to popularity in recent years, spurred by endorsements from no less than Oprah Winfrey, who lists their Hope in a Jar moisturizer as one of her "all-time favorite things." And customers of cosmetics retailer Sephora have awarded a handful of Philosophy products their Best of Sephora title.
On the Other: They're High-priced Products with No Guarantee
Hope in a Jar retails at Sephora for $60 for 4 oz.. That's a considerable expense, especially when so many quality moisturizers are available at your local drugstore for a fraction of the cost. And like every other beauty product, there's no guarantee that it'll agree with your skin.
Bottom Line
Philosophy prides itself on using gentle, natural ingredients, so if you're having a hard time finding a beauty regimen that doesn't irritate your skin, Philosophy products might be a good choice, but see if you can find them on sale.
