  • An increasingly popular brand of small- to mid-size cars and sport utility vehicles, Kia offers fuel-efficient vehicles at prices affordable on nearly any budget. The brand's extended warranty offers very specific coverage.

    Original Owner

While Kia's extended warranty promises select coverage for up to the first 100,000 miles or 120 months of ownership, this coverage cannot be transferred to subsequent owners.

    Engine

Engine coverage in Kia's extended warranty is limited to the repair, maintenance and replacement of select parts, including the cylinder block, cylinder head, internal cylinder parts, timing gear, seals, gaskets, valve cover, water pump, oil pump and flywheel.

    Transmission

Kia's extended warranty covers only a select number of parts in the transmission in terms of repair, maintenance and replacement, such as the transmission case, transfer case, torque converter, all internal torque converter parts, seals and gaskets.

    Basic Care and Adjustments

Contrary to the 100,000-mile/120-month promise, Kia's extended warranty covers basic care and adjustments for just the first 12,000 miles or 12 months of ownership. According to Kia's website, basic care and adjustments are defined as "repairs not usually associated with the replacement of parts."

    Commercial Sales Vehicles

The Kia extended warranty does not include vehicles that are used in commercial sales, such as taxicabs and delivery vehicles.
