According to the manufacturer, the European Body Shaper machine will help you lose inches all over your body and help you burn fat. The machine works by having the participant step on it and hold on tight as it vibrates. The vibrations are supposed to cause your body to burn calories. The manufacturer claims the workout can be completed in 10 minutes per day. As of January 2010, the cost for the machine is close to $1,800.

    On the Other: Vibration Scams

According to the Super Weight Loss Plan, the vibrating machines are scams. The theory behind the machine is the electrical current in vibrations will tear your muscles and cause them to rebuild bigger, which causes toning and muscle-mass improvement as well as fat loss. In practice, the machine does not provide this. The new vibrating machines are similar to the vibrating belt machines that were popular in the 1950s.

    Bottom Line

The only way to weight loss is through aerobic exercise and a healthy low-calorie diet. While it would be great if a vibrating machine could help people lose weight, the truth is that the European Body Shaper machine does not work for weight loss, muscle toning or staying fit.
