  • A MySpace page is a great way to keep in touch with friends or to share your interests with others. There are countless numbers of people with these pages as well as those who have made a page in honor or someone else, such as a family member or a celebrity. If you are interested in getting one of these pages to take part in the trend and find some like-minded people out there, here is how to do it.

    Getting Started

    Go to the MySpace homepage and create an account. Click the "Sign Up" button and fill in the online form provided. There will be spaces for your name, email address and various other pieces of information. This will allow other people, such as old friends, to find you, which is part of the point in MySpace. It is important to give accurate information. Upload a photo to the site; however, for security reasons, you may not want it to be a photo of yourself. Upload one that says something about yourself, whether it is your favorite animal, cartoon character, etc. You can change your photograph at any time or even skip this procedure for the time being.

    Invitations and Profiling

    If you already know some people on MySpace, now is the time to send out invitations to let them know you are there. Perform a search for others that you know that may be on there, or perform a topic search pertaining to your interests and invite others to become your friends or to view your page. You can edit your profile before or after you send out invitations. You may prefer to do it beforehand, but it doesn't really matter. You can type in whatever information that you are comfortable with sharing simply by clicking on "Edit Profile." You can go back and alter or add to this information at a later date if desired. Go through your account settings and see what is there and if you want to change anything. When you are finished in one section, click on "Submit."

    Viewing and Changing

    Complete your MySpace page by viewing all of your information and photo(s) that you have uploaded. If there is something incorrect in any of the options, press "Edit" to make corrections, then press "Submit." Preview the page to see the corrections that have been made. Now your MySpace page is complete and you are free to visit it at any time. Changes can be made and invitations can be sent without any quantity restrictions. Read the regulations concerning what material or content is permitted to be uploaded. Accounts can be suspended if found carrying certain content that can be considered offensive.
