<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Try An Off-white Color
Try an off-white for a Tudor-style appearance to your room. This color combination works especially well for walls that have a textured stucco finish to the wall, and it can be done on the outside or inside. Consult the paint charts, and you will find a myriad of choices very close to the color of sand or weathered wood to go next to the brown trim.
On the Other: Add Color To Accent the Trim
Add color, and the more color you add, the better off the end result will be. The brown has to have some sort of color hue within the deep tones, so see if you can find a bright color than reflects those within the deep brown. Most likely the brown will contain a red or yellow tint, but if the dark color leans towards blue-gray range, don't be afraid to use a blue.
Bottom Line
Dark brown trim is rather limiting in the type of color that adorns the wall. An off-white is always a safe choice, and if you think the room needs some more color, then go with a pastel shade.
