LCD TVs have a number of advantages over other types of flat-screen TVs; for starters, they are lighter and use less power than many other models. Nonetheless, LCD technology still has a number of problems, which you should be aware of before you make a purchase.
Lag Time
The image on LCD TVs tends to lag, creating an awkward or jumpy image, This is especially true for fast-moving images, such as those in action films or during sporting events.
Deep Blacks
LCD TVs don't have black levels as rich or deep as plasma screen TVs, which means the picture tends to look a little washed out.
Viewing Angles
While plasma screen TVs can be viewed from a fairly wide angle without losing picture quality, the image quality on an LCD TV tends to diminish the further you move from dead center of the screen.
Price
LCD televisions tend to be more expensive than plasma screens and other TVs of comparable size and features.
Stuck Pixels
Individual pixels have a habit of freezing or burning out on an LCD TV. They can be fixed sometimes---usually with DVDs designed for that purpose---but doing so can be a nuisance.
