Poor vision is a disqualifying factor for service in the United States Army. However, what the Army defines as poor vision is indeed very poor vision. According to Army entrance requirements, a person is ineligible for service due to vision if distance acuity cannot be corrected, using glasses, to 20/20 in one eye and 20/400 in the other eye, 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other, or 20/40 in one eye and 20/70 in the other eye.
