  • LCD TV combos have become very popular because the integration of DVD players into a TV setup saves room in any space. However, because there are two machines built into one, obtaining the menu screen can be slightly difficult, as it sometimes brings up the DVD menu.

    Finding the Menu

Make sure that the television's remote is on the TV setting rather than the DVD setting. If you click on the menu while it is on DVD, it will take you to the DVD settings. Also, make sure you click on the right menu setting, because there can be up to three on your remote: Menu, Menu Title and Root Menu. You will be looking for the Menu button -- the other two are reserved for getting to a DVD's menu. The menu for the television will always be at the top of the remote and away from the DVD buttons. Click this and it will take you to the television settings, once again making sure that you are on TV instead of the DVD prompt. The way to ensure this is by finding the input options at the top of the remote, which will let you toggle between using the built-in DVD player and the television itself. Once you press Menu, the menu options for the television will pop up and allow you to customize the settings of the television.
