    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

According to the library at ThinkQuest.org, computer animation was used for the first time in approximately 1963. The software, Design Augmented by Computers (or DAC), was developed by IBM and General Motors. It allowed the auto manufacturer to view its car prototypes in 3D.
