  • No, I had a party that night.
  • I was a little worried when the news spreaded out. I think that Pluto should still be a planet, or the entire solar system facts may need to change. They now have to change it to- "The solar system has only 8 planets."
  • Im more interested to see if Mickey will be demoted from a star to a yellow dwarf ;-)
  • Yes. I dont' want to change history
  • That is dwarf planet. A planetoid is a much more loosely defined term that includes a number of other more specific terms. No, I was not upset by the demotion. I have been interested in astronomy for most of my life. As such, I was quite aware of the debate over Pluto's status. So, I was quite happy when they finally resolved this question. BTW, if anyone would like a good explanation as to why the decision to demote Pluto was made, then I would recommend going to your local public library and finding the January 2007 issue of Scientific American. There is an excellent article in there that explains this that is not too technical.
  • Yes, poor thing...
  • With so many problems and issues to worry about...the status of Planet Pluto has to be one of the least things I should worry about...
  • Singwell, you worry too much.
  • The nerve of these scientists! Just out of spite, I will never let it be demoted in my heart. Pluto you will always be a planet to me no matter what they say.
  • The correct term is Plutoid, I was a bit bothered by it, but, it still lives on, and all other similar celestial objects we find will be named after it, Plutoid.
