  • Ultra-right Christians!
  • I suppose whoever downrated the question would be the angrier :) that was kind-of my point. The most, heated, irrational debates on here seem to be about religion (and the most downrated)! Keep on downrating me and proving my point ... and you could let me know if you were a Christian or Atheist as you went along ...
  • Anger and extremism go together, on either end of the spectrum. Extremism is closely coupled to absolutism: the notion that our beliefs and concepts can capture absolute truth, and when coupled with the human tendency to define "self" in terms of beliefs, this can be a deadly combination. Religions TEND to produce more absolutist thinking than secular views, but such isn't always the case... there have been some pretty vicious attacks by atheists on those who don't share their views. For all of us, backing away from extremism is healthy... and restraining our loyalty to any particular viewpoint. All concepts include doubt by nature, a wise mind sees this and behaves accordingly.
  • From my experience on AB, it seems to me that the non-believers are angrier, they seem to display their hatred more. I'm sure for those on the other side of the river see believers as the angrier bunch. We see what we want to see, depending on our views on the subject. I have given some angry answers in the past due to all the belittling/bashing of those of us with a belief/faith system. I'd say that both sides have their own share of angry ABers. Hope this helps. • This is a bit of a non-answer but why do people associate Christians with the right and atheists with the left? That seems a bit odd to me.
