    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Historians use the term "Medieval Times" or "Middle Ages" to describe the period of European history after 410 AD when the city of Rome was sacked---marking the end of cultural influence from Rome---to the beginning of the European Renaissance---a period of new cultural changes and discoveries. Depending on the area of Europe, the European Renaissance began any time between roughly 1201 and 1500 AD.
