  • Yahoo! Answers' rules are too strict. I like Answerbag more because it's more of a relaxed community instead of everyone being uptight (usually). Also, Answerbag gives users more control over their account and more statistics.
  • First of all, I owe Yahoo!Answers a debt of gratitude because it brought me to AB through a reference in a Yahoo answer. Yahoo is much more formal (ie: you have to give up five points to ask a question; you can only answer a certain number of questions a day until you reach a very high level). There is also very limited opportunity for contact with other members. AB is sooo much warmer and you feel a real sense of community if you stick around for a while.
  • I used it once. I did not like it. This is much better. Even if it does have a few kinks.
  • i like answerbag more coz * there is never a necessity to choose the best answer * the people out here are not very rude * there are points given for interesting questions
  • I am one of them. I used to have an account there on Yahoo! As my time there, the people over there were not very social and open, and they actually questioned me whenever I asked a question. Here on Answerbag, it's a great place. It's more social, and quite more friendly, whereas all the questions are open (unless rejected). Overall, I think that this is a better website. By the way, why is this in the LGBT category? =)
  • You know I did...I am still feeling my way around this site..but so far it seems so superior to yahoo. Yahoo answers is like it is on acid(does that phrase date me?)..and spiraling out of control. Customer service at yahoo answers is an oxymoron. They suspended me for no reason...at least no reason that they would divulge to me (for, they say, legal grounds--what doublespeak is that?). I don't really think I violated anything--at least I didn't intentionally. But you cannot fight back when you don't know what you were accused of. So here I am..and glad to be hear.
  • I did. I actually came here by mistake and after just one night I was hooked. This whole site just blows Yahoo Answers away. The staff is great and acctually cares about our happiness and input. They respond when you need them. They also participate so they know what works and what doesn't. And every one on here is friendly and fun to be around. Not to mention freaking smart. When we disagree we can move right on past it on the next question like it never happened. Grudges are not allowed. We also always have each other's backs. Any trolls are going to buy it. And don't get me started on the comment threads and tha fact you can up load to a post. Those just make this the best sight bar none.
  • I tried Yahoo! Answers after test driving "The Bag" for a few weeks. I saw a few questions relating to the other site and just thought I'd check it out. No comparison. Yahoo! just didn't suck me in like AB did.
  • I came from there too. I agree with what the others have said. Trolls, stalkers, staff that is a joke at best, no customer service, and on and on. The site right now blows and isn't fun or helpful at all. I found about about AB in a question there where someone was asking about other answers-type sites. I've been to several others & they were no better. This place ROCKS. The people are nicer, smarter and the staff - holy cow - they actually answered an email! :-) I don't see Y/A lasting in its present state very much longer; they should just pull the plug and be done with it.
  • I know I did. So far this is much better. Yahoo had gotten completely out of control. I think I'll be staying here a while. Ron s
  • I began with Yahoo and accidently found Answerbag. I prefer Answerbag because there is the opportunity to give comments. I like the format better and yes, the people are more interesting. But I keep droppin in at Yahoo, just to put in a comment here and there.
  • Well Tegarst, you know I did!! Yahoo answers started out great, but the negativity, trolls, and unfairness with yahoo policies has started on an all time high. Granted, I am still trying to figure out the point system here etc.., but I'm sure I will. Thanks for letting me know, looks like I have found a new home.
  • **Waving both hands in the air** Me me me!!! lol. I know all too well about the DRAMA that is yahoo Answers. It's just absolutely ridiculous. The site started out very informative, laid-back, good way to meet people AND get others opinions on things. Then it just made such a dramatic turn for the worse, its just terrible. Occasionally there are solid days where it seems like all of the trolls have been exterminated, but give it a few hours and there back stinking up the place again *sigh*. I really do like the layout over there though. Very easy to navigate, and i like the color scheme. BUT one thing i love about AnswerBag is the fact that LGBT is under Relationships :-) HAND CLAPS & WHISTLES!! Raynebow_Diva
  • Thanks Ron! :-) Im glad to be here. It seems like a really great place to be.
  • Yahoo is way out of control. Actions seem to be aribtrary, its the realm of juvenile deliquents and adults who never grew up, which is too bad because I've met some really nice people and lost contact with some too because of the way Yahoo treats its customers. Its a joke.
  • I just joined this today & I'll never go back to yahoo
  • Yes I'm a member there and none compare to Answerbag my very favorite , bottom line
  • I will NEVER return to Yahoo answers. I have never been treated so badly by any company. Customer service there is an oxymoron. They are never wrong..they neve make mistakes..they will not listen to you. All their answers to your queries are computer generated responses which may or may not reflect what you are asking....AND...it has become a site of (as Tegarst would say--and I agree) 'trolls and 12 year olds'. This is far, far superior.
  • I prefer Answerbag to Yahoo! Answers. It's not the people that's wrong with Yahoo! I've seen questions answered and qualitative answers are not given due consideration. The ones that are picked for the best answer are questionable, sometimes they can be a sarcastic response or just someone not taking it seriously but I wonder why they're given 'best answer' status. At least on AB, all responses are given due consideration. The whole site is just easier to use.
  • welli just came from yahoo too and this site is so much better,,there is to much drama anymore and yahoo is meesed up right now,,you cant get your alerts when someone ask a question,,si im trying to figure out how to play this one and hopefully stay here..hope to see alot of my friends on here to,,
  • Came from there...disgusting to say the least!!!
  • Y/A is a joke...overrun with trolls and juveniles...and NO customer service. I don't like that you have to pick a "best answer" and questions are closed after a few days. Plus, you can't comment or upload pictures or videos. I followed some Y/A friends here and I won't go back!
  • yes i have. you cannot compare AB with YA. the most distinguished part of AB is, its organised and the atmosphere is that of neutrality..people talk about trolls here. they must be quiet trolls! on Y!A the trolls are loud and attention seekers..they even have the gall to mock people in the suggestion forum. iam still new here. ive seen it all on answers. hacked 2 times, my Y!360 hacked one time..my inbox spammed with 1000 spam mails..i think its safe to say AB is better over all.
  • answer bag
  • Yahoo who ??????
  • Answerbag.
  • Yahoo has an answers section???
  • Yahoo has the stupidest questions and answers. I almost can't stand to be on there. I think only 13 year old girls use it.
  • AB, loads of us are ex yaboo on here.....yaboo is rubbish :o)
  • ANSWERBAG!!!
  • I have never been on Yahoo Answers. I found Answerbag and stayed. From what I have heard of Yahoo I am glad I stayed here.
  • Yahoo Answers - it is better organised and keeps air-heads off. But then I'm more interested in getting answers than collecting points.
  • I don't really go to Yahoo Answers. Every once in awhile it will come up under a google search.
  • I've only been on yahoo answers a couple of times. I like it here much better.
  • AB. I haven't been on YA in over 4 months and yet I am still getting Violation notices from them for questions that closed years ago.. What can I say? AB will always be #1
  • isn't yahoo a drink? lol answerbag
  • asnwerbag i stopped using yahoo awhile ago the short time i spent on that site they were really rude and mean for no reason and totally un helpfull
  • I left yahoo ..i found they didnt have as many sections, but the one good thing was that alot of peopple kinda "hung" out in the smae place. I stuck around the marriage section. BUt too many trolls, and the answers expired after 3 or 4 days and here it seems there are not as many restrictions as to what u can ask which is nice. too many users compain on yahoo for the dumbest things. people seem more open minded here.
  • I used Yahoo alot before I found AB (which I found by accident but glad I did)I do like AB 1000x's better than Yahoo. I would get stupid violations over there for the dumbest sh*t. I guess those ppl dont like when you speak your mind. I still visit Yahoo occasionally but not very often anymore. AB is soooooooo much better.
  • This site doesn't make you renew your account once it's been inactive for a time like Yahoo, and once it does become inactive and you try and reactivate it, they screw you and don't let you do crap. My obvious answer: Yahoo Answers sucks, Yahoo sucks even more, I'd stick to Answerbag whenever I need an answer, though my questions are often tossed into nothingness because of spamming and pointless questions, though I do think some of the questions I ask are just as pointless.
  • Yahoo Answers bans you immediately just because someone disagrees with your answer and reports you. Hence why I am here.
  • AB are more user friendly and funny XD
  • No. We spread the love here. YA is a circus.
  • it's like what.
  • In that it is a question and answer website, yes. Good beginner information about AB: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1919455 There are many differences between AB and Y!A: 1) trolling is not tolerated here nearly as much. We have community leaders (user mods, basically) and trolls are nuked much quicker. I can tell you that racism against my ethnicity is not tolerated here but was allowed in busloads on Y!A. 2) being bullied off of AB is much harder than being bullied off of Y!A. I am not saying that it does not happen but it is much less than Y!A. 3) we have comment threads in which we can chitchat. This provides a sense of community. 4) The YAT would not respond, at all, to pleas for help from people being badgered off of the site. All you get is form letters. I was one of them. AB staff will reply and help. Again, sh*t happens and AB staff really needs, itself, to improve. They are not fully impartial in my opinion but they are 99% better than the YAT. 5) High level accounts on Y!A are routinely taken down by troll reports. That does not happen here. 6) We do not have the nebulous VN for nothing logical then *poof* goes your account. Yes, I think some people are permabanned unjustly here but it is a minuscule fraction compared Y!A. If you have a myspace, give this a read: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=189415598&blogID=263311030 I might be the most cloned individual over there.
  • It's better at most things, except the UI and the time you have to wait to get some answers. One major good thing is that you can not do world records here by being banned by bots, like in YA.
  • Let's take it short: Nothing like yahoo answers.. (I wish I could erase my answers or questions or comments tho.. I didn't want to answer the second time..)
  • I'm only just joined AB - I was on Y!A for months. Features-wise they may be similar, but on Y!A, if you get reported as violating guidelines the assumption is that you are guilty - I doubt that a human actually reads the content to verify - and there is no appeals process. There's just an automated email replier which tells you that your appeal was rejected. No amount of features piled on to that attitude makes it worthwhile.
  • AB is my first Love!
  • I used Yahoo answers Advantages: It layed out much easier. Easier to understand Better point system More users It can suggest categorys for you but here you have to choose one Better categories Y!A is better!
