The associate's degree is usually completed at a two-year community college or vocational school.
Benefits
One benefit of having a liberal studies associate's degree is that you can enter a variety of entry-level careers after graduation without having to transfer to a four-year university. Because you took a few English composition courses, you can work as a copy editor, staff writer, receptionist or advertising assistant.
Time Frame
As with most associate's degree programs, the liberal studies program normally lasts two years, although at some schools the time frame is one year or less.
Pre-Admission Guidelines
In addition to the application, you will also need your high school transcript, an entrance essay, and recommendation letters. Another thing you want to do is apply for federal financial aid by going to Fafsa.ed.gov or picking up the Federal Application for Free Student Aid at your college financial aid office.
