Time
The average sports massage therapist has to undergo at least 500 hours of training at a licensed training facility.
Subjects
Sports massage therapists usually study the following subject areas: anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, body mechanics, business management and ethics.
Licensure
Many states require that you obtain a license upon graduating massage therapy school which is usually obtained after a standardized exam is passed.
Disposition
Massage therapy must be good at working with people and making them comfortable since massage therapy can be a delicate situation for some people.
