Chevy's SSR two-wheel-drive pickup truck was made between 2003 and 2006, and its best year for fuel economy was 2006--when its highway gas mileage reached 18 miles per gallon. By comparison, the 2006 Chevy Suburban 1500 (two-wheel-drive) got only 17 miles per gallon on the highway.

On the Other: You Can Do Better

Known more for its flashy looks than for its fuel economy, towing power or abundance of cargo space, the SSR made Time Magazine's "50 Worst Cars of All Time" list for its 2004 model. Considering the fact that a comparable 2004 Toyota Tacoma got an average of eight more miles to the gallon with more power and space, it's no wonder why.

    Bottom Line

While the Chevy SSR's fuel economy isn't the very worst ever, it's right up there. If you're in the market for a impressive-looking vehicle though, it might be right for you.
