Real estate is an industry with low standards of admission and very high numbers of people getting into it each year. A good real estate salesperson can be difficult to find. There are five traits that any good agent will possess.
Knowledgeable
Real estate is a complex industry and errors can be expensive and frustrating. A salesperson's dedication to continuing education and his level of expertise about market conditions is critical.
Honest
A real estate salesperson has access to sensitive and confidential information. He could easily act against his client's best interest. A good agent is ethical and fair dealing with everyone.
Hard Working
Real estate agents are usually self-employed. Most people who get into the business end up quitting because they cannot find enough business to support themselves. A good agent is a real go-getter.
Organized
Salespeople must juggle multiple demands and deadlines. Consumers have reported that prompt responsiveness was one of the most important traits to them. A good real estate salesperson has superior time management skills and will stay in touch consistently.
Diplomatic
In real estate, there's often conflict between various parties. A good real estate salesperson knows when to be forceful and when to be more tactful. Skillful diplomacy can often save a deal.
