I think that the Ku Klux Klan is very popular since everyone keeps asking questions about it here on Answerbag... Anyway, my real thoughts are that it's a bad group to be part of and that they do really bad things to people.

They are stuck in the past and need to look in themselfs because more than 80% of them have a different ethic background other than "white". And they are cowards

I feel there should be more role models like this for our young - what better way for young girls and boys to develop a deep-rooted sense of community than by joining this happy organisation? Also I believe that cross-burning - a useful, transferable skill - should be placed on the national curriculum so that these skills and traditions can be passed down to the next generation. Similalry with tying nooses for lynchings. Long may they bless this earth with their little white hoods so perfectly cleaned and ironed.

They rank right up there(or down there) with gutter snipes and hate filled people whether they are black white or purple, racism must be eradicated. I think what bothers me most is they do it in the name of God, and I think that point is hidden in your question somewhere, right? Hate does no one any good.

I've always thought that they would be more effective if they didn't shave their heads and possibly if they wore suits; they'd look much nicer. Also, are they afraid of the sun? Do they wear sunscreen with SPF 20,000? Is tanning a no-no? Aren't some of them 'Christian?' Wasn't Jesus a Jew? Do they love and hate Jesus at the same time? Hating based on skin color is the dumbest thing ever, unless you're a green polka-dotted purple person -- that is allowed. Hating people is dumb too. Hating what people DO is about the only thing that's acceptable. Some people's actions are inexcusable.

Being a CHRISTIAN I think that this organization should be treated only in the way the JESUS CHRISTS commands us to treat them. We are to LOVE them and pray for them because their souls are at stake. I believe the Ku Klux Klan is a group of uneducated, lazy, cowardly bigots. Yes, some of them hold office and professional jobs, however, they are uneducated in that they do not educate themselves about other people. They are lazy in that they would rather tow the line and not think for themselves. That is why they hate. They are cowards because they have to hide behind hoods to act out their hatred. "Bigot" is self-explanatory. Frankly, were I Emperor of the United States, I would outlaw them. Hate groups are NEVER needed. Hate groups NEVER do anything productive. EVERYTHING a hate group does is destructive. Bigots wear blinders on their minds. Think about a stagnant pond... it festers and dies. The same thing happens with a mind that is not fed fresh material. It, too, is poisoned and festers. The KKK is filled with mentally diseased and vile creatures. I would take much pleasure in forcing DNA testing on them. I am betting that the majority have other than "white" blood somewhere in their family tree, inbred though it is.

I saw a KKK rally once. Had a great time. I have to admit it was the funniest show I've ever seen. Better than any of the comics on HBO or Showtime. Funnier even than Homer Simpson, though in the same kind of way. Because of the sheets over their heads they should call themselves 'The Unknown Comics'. Then again, I think that's already been done. Some people think their message is old and tired, but I think good comedy is eternal. Considering that they actually seem to believe the crap that comes out of their mouth makes it even wilder. Actually, they may have been something way back in the day when blacks were afraid of them. But that day has long passed.

Two white kids in southeast Texas chained a retarded black man and drug him around backroads until his body disintegrated. Parts of him were scattered all over county roads that took a few days to find. They weren't KKK. Just a couple of good ol' boys out having a little fun. Bigotry can be found where you least expect it. If the Klan had done this, I couldn't be more disgusted than I already am. . Two black kids kidnapped a 19 year old friend of mine and raped her for three days before they let her go. She was the sister-in-law of the county sheriff and granddaughter of a former Mississippi state KKK honcho/top dog, then deceased. Her grandmother used her influence to find the kidnappers and give them the most unpleasant incarceration experience ever known to young blacks in Mississippi, which continues, as it will for some time. . Who's worse?

One word....IGNORANT.

We human beings all come into this world with a mind, a heart, a soul or spirit .. and bit by bit .. we experience life and evolve ourselves into .. well .. whatever kind of human being we choose. I don't mean external cicumstances like money or power. I mean the kind of values we claim .. the kind of human being we are from the inside out. Along the way, any of us might join organizations, clubs or just say "yes" or "no" to ideas, theories, values, beliefs. Given what the KKK is and stands for? Any person - given the above - who says "yes, this calls to me" and "yes, this matches my world view" - to me, has a tilted, sad and yes, wrong view of the universe. It's not just a set of ideas or values. It's hate mongering that leads to violence - not imagined or feared - but real in our history and current day news. The fact that we HAVE the KKK makes me alternatively sad and angry .. and yes, even ashamed. Seems there will always be those "edge" extremes, but I'd sure like to see them be edging us towards our common HUMANITY not INHUMANITY.
