A beach wedding, while typically a casual affair, gives a groom clothing options ranging from beachwear to formalwear, depending on the overall tone of the ceremony.
Very casual attire
For a laidback ceremony, the groom's attire can be as simple as khaki shorts or pants, a collared white button-down shirt and sandals or bare feet.
Hawaiian style
Grooms getting married in Hawaii have a more festive choice: a Hawaiian shirt, khakis and flower lei.
Smart casual
For a classy, timeless look, dress the groom in classic gray or khaki pants, a white button-down and a brightly colored tie.
Semi-formal
If the groom would rather wear a suit, make it light cotton in khaki or gray. Linen is an option, but cotton breathes better--crucial for the hot beach climate--with less chance of wrinkling while traveling.
Formal
No rules as to what the groom must wear at a beach wedding means he can choose a formal suit or tuxedo. Most grooms, however, avoid clothing that could make them hot, sweaty and uncomfortable.
