Advantages
You can save time by purchasing a barebones PC. This is because the majority of the parts needed to for operation are already installed. In addition, you get to decide which central processing unit, memory, hard disk, video, and sound card you want to install.
Target Consumer
The target consumer for a barebones PC is generally someone who is trying to save money. This gives the company manufacturing the barebones PC a good reason to use cheap parts to increase profit.
Disadvantages
The cheap parts used for the basic construction have a higher chance of malfunctioning as they are often off brand and poorly made. If those parts malfunction, they may cause damage to higher-end parts you place in the computer.
Considerations
Before purchasing a barebones PC, consider your budget and knowledge level of personal computer parts and construction.

Computers contain parts that generate and conduct electrical current. A stray electrical charge could damage your equipment and cause you personal harm.
