Because many are brainwashed in believing that it is.

Is it?

History indicates that nominally capitalistic societies are more productive than societies with command economies (typical examples are the former Soviet Union and China). This greater productivity tends to produce a higher material standard of living for the people in those societies. On the other hand, capitalism is an *economic* system, not a political, moral or philosophical system. Hence, it does not by itself produce a civil society, or moral good, or spiritual enlightenment. In fact, many countries (Singapore, Saudi Arabia, modern-day Russia, etc.) are capitalistic, but are probably places the average person would not want to live.
-
Because the people who tell us that it is good live wealthily because of its existence.
-
it is only considered good by the capitalists. its a horrible system which we have been brainwashed to believe is the best and only viable system.
-
I was unaware it was considered good for it has at as many flaws as any form of government in the world including Monarchy's..
-
If it is, then it's because US a big example of capitalism in action, and US is doing great...ish....
-
Besides the economic benefits to the whole society, Capitalism offers the most freedom and is the most moral system. When people are given the freedom to seek their own ways, to use their own sweat they improve their lot they improve the greater good. When governments are empowered to pick winners and losers or favor some over others, to take money from some and give it to others they may object to, this will become biased and meddling at best and immoral at worst. All other systems have others deciding what is right for everyone.

I don't think you'll ever find the answer...I'd elaborate, but all I'd be talking about is how it's the spawn of the devil and the ignorance the capitalist show towards "their" working class. The bare thought of capitlism/ists. makes. me. want. to. vomit.

Because it benefits entrepreneurs. There is the idea that if you take risks and work hard you can become successful. Oh, then you oppress your employees and pay them slave wages, cutting costs while producing inferior products and making the shareholder happy.
-
AS LONG AS YOU PAY YOUR TAXES,NO BODY CAN STOP YOU FROM MAKING LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY.THAT'S CAPITALISM.
-
it is a system of slavery, in the amendment proccess!

Heres an example. person A goes to college spends his money wisely and works hard he makes 100,000 a year and employs some one who makes 30,000. Together they generate 130,000 of yearly wealth. person B doesn't go to college doesn't spend his money wisely but claims to work hard even though he was playing and buying nice cars when person A was studying and investing wisely. This person B makes 40k a year and works for someone else. He generates 40,000 of yearly wealth. now lets see what happens when we throw socialism the opposite of capitalism into the mix. Lets take 20k more in taxes from the rich guy. he can afford it. After all he's wealthy. Oh and lets give it to person B and say its for his health care. There by buying his vote and a little of his freedom cause he now has to vote for me to keep his health care. ok so takeing the 20k we now have person A makes 80k his employee makes 30K = 110k person B still makes 40k and lets say he gets 20k in health insurance. (note: government spending is notoriously wasteful and he would probablly only get 10k worth in reality ) so person B is at 60k. well now person A has no incintive to go and make 100k again cause he knows the government will take it away. he's now only makeing 20k more than person B but he has all the headaches of a boss. So guess what. he quits. gets the same job as person B make 40 plus 20k health insurance. oh and his 30k employee is out of a job. so whats the total both people are making 60k and everyone thinks the world is perfect that is until there are no more rich to tax cause they all started working for 40k so now person A and B are each making 40k total with capitalism : 100k + 40K + 30K = 170K total with socialism: 40k + 40K + no health care = 80K Socailism has failed everytime it has been tried. Capitalism isn't perfect but at least it works.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Capitalism is good because it hasa free marker system at its core. It allows an individual with a dream the chance to follow it and make a good living. If everyone was paid the same why would somone do extra? If putting in 100% will get you paid no more than the person doing 60% you would just do the minimun. So a lot of innivation would not happen because no one will step beyond mediocrity. If you were hired to assemble something why would you bust your hump to complete 15 in one hour if you were going to get paid for doing the minimum of 11? Would you put together the extra 4 for free? People do the extra because they can get rewarded fot their effort. Who would spend 8 years or more becoming a heart surgeon if they are going to make as much as a car salesman in the end? And with a free market system you have choices. That is why we are all not driving the same care in 3 colors like a ammended version of the Model T. When you have choice, then you have innovation and quality. Because the next guy is trying to make his product better, different, cheaper as to get your attention and have you buy from him and not the next guy.

Relatively speaking, it does have some benefits. Most folks can be expected to bust their butt for themselves. However, most rich folks can also be expected to get the government to allow them to legally screw over the worker.
