Feliway is a product intended to reduce incidents where a cat will mark its territory by urination. It does this by mimicking the cat's natural pheromones, making the cat less likely to mark a particular area. A study conducted by veterinarian Wayne Hunthausen concluded that the use of Feliway led to a decreased number of marking incidents.
On the Other: May not Work for Every Cat
Feliway may be slow to work in some cases, while in others it might not be effective. According to the manufacturer's website, feliway.com, a user should try the product for a minimum of one month before concluding that it has not worked.
Bottom Line
Studies show that Feliway is beneficial in most, though not all, cases of feline marking behavior. Consult your veterinarian if you believe that your cat might benefit from Feliway.
