<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Tupperware Offers Microwave-Safe Items
An entire line of Tupperware items is microwave-safe. Called microwave-safe plastics, they heat food evenly and are easy to clean. You can use this type of Tupperware to cook and reheat foods.
On the Other: Some Tupperware Is Not Safe to Microwave
To be sure that you can microwave Tupperware, check the label. If there is no label indicating that your Tupperware item is microwave-safe, the container may warp or melt, according to Tupperware Corp. However, Tupperware contains polycarbonate in its high-heat-resistant products, and even though the Food and Drug Administration has deemed products with polycarbonate to be safe, this is still a chemical that you are heating up.
Bottom Line
Ensure that the Tupperware product you intend to use in the microwave is clearly labeled microwave-safe. If it is, you can safely use it in the microwave. If it isn't labeled as such, you may ruin your Tupperware if you put it in the microwave.
