Marjorie Greenfield, M.D., of Case Medical School in Cleveland, recommends taking 1 to 4 oz. of castor oil to try to induce labor. Mix it with 6 oz. of juice to mask the unpleasant taste. Discuss this natural way of trying to induce labor with your physician and he can recommend the amount you should take. Never try to induce labor before your due date.
