Loggers, otherwise known as fallers or lumberjacks, are responsible for cutting down trees, either to clear land or for wood production. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports (May 2008) that the mean hourly wage for loggers is $16.43, with the bottom 10 percent of loggers earning $9.59 per hour and the top 10 percent earning $26.65 per hour.
