  • Haha, no sir. I would find that to be too showy. I hated wearing them even when I was in, as the bead chain would pull on my chest hair. Although technically it wasn't authorized, I normally kept mine in my breast pocket. [edit: Oh, and dog tags aren't medals, they're simply identification tags.]
  • Nope, I don't even have them anymore. And like Aristocles, I usually didn't wear them when I was in, because they kept working their way into my bra and pinching me. I kept them in the pocket of my trousers so that I could quickly put them on if some senior enlisted member or officer started checking people.
  • No I don't
  • No, my wife has them in her Jewelry box at the moment.
  • Had not worn them since I got out 1979, but every since my son joined the Marines in 2000 I vowed to wear them until he end's his military career...didnt know he was going to be a lifer..
  • I got out in '85 and wore mine until around 1990. After the first invasion I took mine off.
  • Since the day I got home they have been on my keychain for some reason the noise they make has become a comfort to me and on the plus side the dog knows the sound of them and doesn't bark when I sneak home late at night.
  • No I don't. I got out in 89 and have not worn them since. My wife keeps them in her jewelry box with my surgical tags (the wrist bands you wear when you go in for surgery). I do have a bit of 550 cord with my late dogs actual dog tags that I wear sometimes. But I do wear my green beanie, but I don't tip it up. I keep it flat (I don't wear a uniform any more).
  • NOPE I WORE THEM 4 A WHILE BUT MY WIFE HAD A SHADOW BOX made to put my medals in and they are on the box
  • I wore mine for about a year after I got home, now there in a box in my closet.
