A recent study by the Howard Florey Institute in Australia indicates that the mid cingulate cortex of a senior's brain tends to miscalculate the amount of water he or she needs. According to Florey scientist Dr. Michael Farrell, elderly adults should drink approximately eight glasses of water a day to prevent dehydration.
