It is likely that they can. Some examples can be found in the Bible, in the very first book, Genesis. There Satan takes the form of a serpent, which leads the woman in a rebellion against Gods authority. Another example is that of the Nephilim. Angels in heaven were looking at the women on earth and saw that they were very desireable, so they left heaven to come to the earth, and there took on the form of men. After interbreeding with human women they gave rise to a new group of people, giants called the Nephilim, half human and half angels. This was shortly before the flood, in which all such men were destroyed. The demons once again took on heavenly form and left the earth. If a demon could take on the form of a man, or an animal, then it is entirely possible that they could likewise take on the form of a ghost or apparition.

I believe I had 'something' in me or about me influencing me to do wrong things in my life and make unwise choices. When I truly became a Christian I had a face flash in my eyes one night while asleep. I wasn't dreaming just sleeping, then the most hideous awful rottened looking face you could ever imagine which appeared to be in sheer agony and crying flashed in my vision. Terrified, I awoke immediately, then I knew I was rid of whatever had been hanging around me for awhile, trying to get me commit suicide and be around people who treated me bad who I believe had things influencing them to possibly even kill me. This is true! He started carrying a gun in his car after he told me I'd better run for my life. So I believe I had a demon hanging around me and he also had one who would co-hort together trying to get me killed unsaved!! This stuff is real! I've seen shadow figures too, maybe if your heart is truly right with God you can see these things.

I saw on one day a tv show about a demon taking the form of a little girl. Scary true story.

Of course. They are in fact unclean spirits, one of the things we call ghosts are spirits. Surley it's not that hard for them.
