freeze with ice till its hard then pick it off should do the trick

Put a paper towel down and use an iron on very low heat. Increase the heat as needed, it will melt the wax and the paper towel will adsorb the liquified wax. If all else fails, cut out the offending section with a razor blade, and cut fibers from a spare piece of carpet. Apply hot glue and place the fibers on the area. Trim with sharp scissors. This works well with cigarette burns as well. It won't work well on Berber or other tightly knit carpeting, but very good for shag.

Get a brown paper bag and tear a piece of, much bigger than the piece of wax, and iron over it on a low heat. Pick it right off. Works with any fibre, jeans, t-shirt etc etc
