a combination of nature and nurture. As with any negative character trait, we are born as selfish individuals. That is the nature of being human. So, saying what we feel is natural. The extent of rudeness, however, is determined by our upbringing: does our culture/home life encourage or discourage blunt speaking? Are we taught ways to say things that are not so blunt, yet get the message across?

A person is rude usually because he is self-centered, self-absorbed, and/or just plain selfish. Rude people never stop to consider the feelings or needs of others. All they are aware of is their own needs, feelings, and problems.

When they give you improper looks for no reason or they say something snide and don't have any feelings begind it. They might think their better than you. It all depends.
