Help answer this question below.
turn it off during the night or when youre not home - waste of energy
turn it off after you're done using it. if you left it on, someone could mess with it and download porn sites or something, thus getting you in trouble with your parents or guardian
Answer #1: silly and not true. If you have your computer plugged into a power strip, turning your computer off doesn't change the power use because it's the power strip pulling the power. Additionally, the power consumption of the average home computer is negligible compared to most of appliances in the home.
Answer #2: personal opinion that I disagree with, although the humor of rinse & repeat was cute.
Answer #3: if you put a system password to protected it, then your other siblings couldn't get into it, or better yet, just fess up that you like to look at boobs now and again and make your parents understand that you're a growing boy with natural desires and curiousity. sheesh
Finally, MY answer:
I generally leave my systems on, primarly because I do a great deal of downloading and processing (I'm a programmer and play a LOT of games (blush)). I have found that the power consumption is minimal and at least two computers are on 24/7 always. I have also found that the few mechanical/moving parts show less wear and tear from remaining on instaed of having to "power up" on a daily basis.
Now, this is only my opinion, based on experience, but it is given after careful thought and logical process.
Hope it helped.
