There was ice there? Ive watched rivers freeze when I lived in Michigan, it starts at the shore where objects like sticks and trees meet the water and builds from there, the falls I don't know?? Good question.

i believe the photo is fake.mist could freeze when it contacts something cold and solid but that much moving water just doesn't seem likely.

Niagara falls has frozen several times previously, it would appear. Plenty of images in Google. Here is one.

I know I could freeze in below zero weather no matter how fast I'm moving. +5

It's possible. A river freezes from the outside in until gradually, the ice could conceivably take over the whole river with less and less water flowing until finally the whole thing just stops. After that, the falls will freeze.

I think it is possible. Every winter I see fountains that have become cascades of ice instead of water. The water had to be moving when it froze in the spilling-over position.

Moving water can freeze. A good example is the oceans at the north and south poles. It would freeze from the outside to the inside. I could see the falls freezing as well, but maybe not all the way through.

Yes, the falls can and have frozen over. I ice fish on many rivers every winter, the same ones I fish in during the summer.
