If you witnessed someone stealing from a store, would you tell on them?

Yes i would stealing is wrong, if people would not steal shops may be able to keep their prices down.

It depends. If they look mean or dangerous, probably not. If it is just somebody getting their kicks by stealing, then yes. I have approached teenagers who I saw shoplift and remind them that it is not shoplifting until they pass the checkout counters. They get the hint and put whatever it was back on the shelf. When I bagged groceries in college, I saw a mom steal some formula. She knew I caught her, but I said it was OK. She looked poor and her older child was dirty and ill-clothed. I probably should have made her put it back or paid for it myself, but I was 20 and didn't think it through.

I used to be a store detective and yes i would, you would not believe how much stores put on the prices of things to cover for theft

No, I think everybody has to make their own choices. If they want to steal, let them steal, let them get caught and learn their lesson. If they don't get caught, they'll definitely do it again and again until they DO get caught. It's not my place to interfere with the process.
