O.K. Now this one's a little arcane, but I take it that's just what you're after, right? If you will be in Southern California and would like to check out a famous but hard to find historic movie spot,(you'll need to do some computer prep work first-don't panic. It's quick, easy, and a cool place to visit). Go to Google Maps and enter 3386 Harbor Blvd. Oxnard, Ca. and hit enter. Go to sattelite view. Drag the mouse from the top of the frame with the little hand downward,(which will move the map north), along the coast, keeping the shore AND Harbor Blvd. in view for 5 screen lengths. You should now see McGrath Lake. When you do, go up to the 'search maps' square to the right of the displayed address and click it once. This will reposition the map exactly to where you want to physically go. Do you see where the red flag "A" is located on a bridge on Harbor Blvd.? To the immediate right from the bridge you'll see the remainder of the inlet bay from the ocean to the left of the bridge which is the beginning of the Santa Clara River. Well anyway, that little remainder of the inlet there on the right is the exact 'on location' spot where the accident with the helicopter crash in "Twilight Zone: The Movie" that killed actor Vic Morrow and 2 Vietnamese children on July 28, 1982 occured! If you drag the little man on the upper left of the map,(by the zoom-in function), to street level you can actually get the exact camera angle that you can also see from a clip of the accident on youtube. Keep this map minimized and open another window to bring up youtube. On youtube enter 'twilight zone the movie accident' the top clip displayed is the one. Of course, in the movie it's 2 A.M. in the morning, so it's dark. Now, go back to the sattelite map. Just below and to the right of the "A" you can see a long sandy finger below a light green 'marshy' area and a smaller spot bare of vegetation. Well, the 'finger' is a raised chalk cliff, the light green area is where the thatched hut was built that you see in the movie clip and the little dry spot is where the pyrotechnics blast that blew off the tail rotor of the helicopter causing it to spin out of control and crash, also permanently scourched the landscape.
