I have a head-ache (not related to neck/back). I'm unable to take pain-relieving medications. Does anyone know any 'holistic' treatments?

It depends on where the pain is located and what is causing it. Since it's not in your back our shoulders it is most likely behind your eyes, or in your sinus area.

If it is behind your eyes you can have someone run the back of you head right where it meets the neck. These are you suboccipital muscles.

Otherwise, you can run your fingers over either side of your nose and acoss your cheek bone and then over your eyebrows, always starting in the center and working your way outward. That should help relive and sinus pressure you may be having.

Myotherapy. If it's muscle related. Push on pressure points on your scalp (anywhere is hurts is a good place to start if you don't know where they are), hold for five seconds and release. Repeat across your forehead. Have some favorite tea, turn down the lights, turn on soft music you like, and try to take a nap.

Some people respond to caffeine - it increased blood flow through the capillaries.

I respond well to steam: I either put a bowl full of water in the microwave and then stick my face over it and breathe in the steam or I take a SUPER hot shower.

As mentioned already, make sure you are hydrated. A headache is often a sign of mild dehydration.

I also use eucalyptus and lavender to soothe a headache. Aromatherapy can work if you enjoy it.

Well, there really aren't ways I know to relieve headache, but I do know how to prevent them.

1)Avoid eating fast food or eating out, because many of those foods are full of toxins that may trigger headaches.

2)Eat healthy, avoid anything without nutritional value.

3)Get enough sleep, as this will reduce your chance of getting headaches

4)Water, somtimes the lack of water triggers headaches. Drinl 8 cups minimmun a day.

The headache that you have described sounds as if it is a sinus headache. If your headache is located in your forehead and you also feel pain around your sinus regions it is most likely a sinus headache.

I have found a natural homeopathic medicine that can help releive your headache. It is called sinuswars12 and it contains an ingredient that acts as a natural pain killer, but without any side effects. The remedy also helps treat the cause of the headache by unblocking your sinuses. The company's website also has a lot of great information, specifically the sinus massage that can help you.
