I'm not sure if this is standard proceedure, but I start off connecting the router and modem to one of my computers, then I disconnect the computer, but not the cable or router, so they both think they are still connected to my computer, but there not. Then you can connect as many wireless computers as you want, you don't even need to use but one ethernet. from the cable modem to the main ethernet connecter (usually called WAN or is shadded a different color) Remember, the initial connection to your computer supplies the router with the necessary MAC Address to legitametly connect the modem...

If both computers have a Wi-Fi antennae you only have to connect it to the router. The router will be connected to the modem.. You can do this either of two ways. You can buy a Wi-Fi USB adapter for both computers and have them connect wirelessly or, you can hook the router to the modem and run an ethernet cable from the LAN1 openning of the router into the back of one of the USB ports on your motherboard. This will be the computer that's closest to the router. The other computer, depending on how far it is away from the router, can be hooked up running an ethernet cable to the LAN2 opening of the router into the USB port on the back of the mother board. Or, you can buy a Wi-Fi- USB adapter and run the second computer wirelessly.
