I do not have any problem with God the father and Jesus the son being male. However, no Christian should be making sacrifices to them as Jesus sacrifice was the ultimate sacrifice and they are required no more. To do so would be saying Jesus' was not enough.

Actually, the sacrifice has already been made. But aside from that, God is Spirit, which can be neither male nor female. Jesus even compares himself to a mother hen at one point. I'd say the patriarchal nature of society pushed that image onto God, and He merely accepted it for our benefit.
