  • Technically it says (at least in the King James version) "the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah" so Jeremiah doesn't claim that all the sons of Zedekiah were slain. Heleman 8:21 says something similar: "And now will you dispute that Jerusalem was destroyed? Will ye say that the sons of Zedekiah were not slain" The referance to the destruction of Zedekiah's sons is brief and nondescript in the Bible. The Book of Mormon clarifies that one of the sons of Zedekiah was not slain, but escaped to the American contenant and was the leader of the Mulekites who became the people of Zarahemla and joined together with king Mosiah.
