Does it ever disappoint you when people mark down a perfectly good question because they don't approve of the discussions it brings around even when the question itself is fine?

DRs happen for various reasons: 1) The person who does it is POed at you. 2) The person who does it is simply DRing anything (Yes. I've see it.) 3) The person who does it doesn't like the question. 4) The person who does it doesn't like the opinion derived from the question. 5) The person who does it is playing games with the leaderboard 6) The person who does it... The list goes on and on. DRs don't count against your points for levels. They DO count against your +% on questions and answers. DRs DO affect the rankings of questions within categories and answers within questions. Oh, and yes. Almost everyone who pays attention to DRs is disappointed when good questions and answers get DRed.

All DR disappoint me because I do not believe inn Down rating as a tool. If I do not like something I will leave a message or I will ignore it. If it was extremely offensive I would flag it but that is not something that happens very often.
