WAR --GOOD GOD Y'ALL -- WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? -- ABSOLUTELY NUTHIN!!
-
neither one works.
-
isn't that what we're doing?
-
We've had a couple of wars before and they didn't seem to work. So; they've had their "CHANCE" and it FAILED ...
-
Didn't seem to work for the past 2000 years and counting, anyway. Of course, peace only exists when everyone who doesn't agree with you is dead, so war is prolly a good thing. I mean, man is at his best when he discovers new ways to mess up his brother, and so, we get advancement and technology, which allows us to be all badass on the internet. Easy to say all this stuff when y'ain't on the receiving end though.

Isn't war usually a last option? So you get alittle peace beforehand...then maybe, alittle peace after a war.

I'm willing to give war a chance when there is a compelling danger that requires it. The United States has not been subject to such conditions since October 1950. The US/UN had repulsed the North Korean invasion. It was their decision to invade deeply into North Korea that brought China into the war and extended it another 3 years. If one doesn't grant the Korean conflict as a compelling danger requiring a military response, then the US has not faced an existential threat since 1945. Give the history of US participation in 'wars' since then, which have almost exclusively benefited the Military-Industrial Complex and the Seven Sister (US-based) oil companies, I see no reason to give war a chance. "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." -- Hermann Goering . . .

Upon further consideration, I say ****YES!!!!****... Let's give war a chance. By 'war', I mean an actual war. A war where CONGRESS DECLARES WAR. Funny how all the Right-Wing Echo Chamber talking heads (and their listeners) forget that provision when they go tub-thumping about how they 'respect the Constitution'. Congress hasn't declared war since 1941, yet we seem to be in a *lot* of 'wars'. If we're going to put Americans in military conflict, let's have a war. A war where EVERYONE is subject to serving, not just poor people with no better option. A war where our civilian leaders have a clear idea of what what victory means, and the military has a clear plan to achieve it. Not a 'war' where the plan is "we invade and overthrow the government, then things will spontaneously be great". Not a 'war' where the military says "We need 500k troops", and the Secretary of Defense goes 'general-shopping' until he finds one who says "OK, I can fight that war with 130k". A war where EVERYONE is in the war effort, whether it's building the up-armored HUMVEEs our troops need in government-run factories, or serving chow in the forward operating bases. Not a 'war' where the Secretary of Defense says "Gosh, golly, gee-wilikers. I'm sorry the troops are under-equipped", and the chow-servers are subcontracted by Halliburton from India at enormous profits. A war where the civilian population makes sacrifices, pays additional taxes, saves and recycles every bit of war material they can, and treats every homecoming coffin with a hero's welcome. Not a 'war' where the President says "Go shopping. Run up your credit card taking the family to Disney World". Not a 'war' where the money for it is borrowed from the superpower likely to be our next major rival. Not a 'war' where the dead and wounded are shoved out of the public light and ignored. So, yes, I'm ready to give war a chance....because I'm am sick to death of 'war', which accomplishes nothing but enriches the Corporatist Kleptocracy, perverts our democracy, and ruins our reputation around the world (not to mention the death and maiming of millions of people, just like real war)....8+<.... . . .

Of course. Enough war and the question becomes moot anyway...we will all be dead. End of story. Happy Wednesday to you! :)

War is only good to make money for the manufacturs of the equipment needed to fight a war. They make millions of dollars from the dead bodies of good young people. . All wars are fought for these two reasons: Greed (making money)and increase territory. No war has ever been fought for "freedom" that is a fabricated lie to give incentive to make the general public to believe it is worth while to die for.

war is just evil hatred, a massive step back in friendship, trust, belief, hope, and faith
