2 maybe 3. I was 8 yo and in high surf, dad saved me.

One.... I pushed myself to passing out at a swim meet..... I really dont remember the last 10 meters as I was on automatic pilot...

Obviously you meant near death. (no hyphen necessary) I've had a few close calls that I know of, but with eight years of Bush presidency there were probably hundreds that I never knew about.

I hope I got you correctly near death well.. 4 times I should have been dead. Do you want me to describe them all? 1.. I walked back into my apartment for my wallet and walked back in the street between some cars and this horrendous screech were brakes somebody speeding had skid to stop inches from me..as I stare at them they were laughing their heads off. 2.. A speeding car hit me while crossing a busy freeway..first car was stopped at a crosswalk but the one behind that plowed into me and I broke the windshield with my head...Hit me just right so I roll up on it than rolled off.. a little leg pain for a while..my head was ok. 3.I was riding my bicycle and went through an intersection and saw a speeding car coming towards me and I hit it but my bicycle front tire miraculously wobbled in place.. i just clipped it without going down. 4.I was walking the railroad tracks over a busy freeway with some loose boards by the tracks I stepped on and it and it caved under me but didnt break which would have led me feet 30 feet down into traffic.

I have taken a number of calculated risks and done some downright stupid things I shouldn't have but I've never lost conciousness or at least marginal control.

Well where to begin... #1 I was stabbed in spain #2 I tried to kill myself #3 I tried to kill myself again (succeeded dead for about a minute) #4 surfing in south Africa and saw a HUGE shark #5 Car accident on the freeway (6 weeks in body cast) #6 was almost hit in the face by one of the giant bottle rockets This list goes on and on but i feel like that will suffice...LOL

Wooo, tons, I don't even know, the thing about that question is, you are implying that I (or anyone for that matter) always knows when they are in a near death situation :P. You could be seconds away from instant death and never know. Personally, I know of several times where I could have died had I not acted quickly, and some times I could have died from natural events, especially heart-related. There have been times where dangerous people could have done harmful things and I either got lucky or played smart.
