  • Rating is for answers that aren't helpful. But many people on here down rate answers that fly in the face of their political, religious, and other personal beliefs. So long as you remember that difference, you'll be fine.
  • I have found a little goes a long way, sugar instead of spice,The idea of downrating on here isn't in the norm, most will only positive rate and only downrate if something really is offensive to them, absolute wrong answers just get comments from others who explain their differences instead of downrating. Good luck with this,it's a different kind of community.
  • D/Ring is mostly for grotesque answers, ignore the in between answers
  • As far as I can see this question is your first written contribution, so first of all welcome. The object of the exercise is to ask and answer questions, not go round marking them like some sort of examiner.
  • This site has become a total ego stroke-a-thon, with people scrounging for points as if they can trade them in for tangible objects or some shit. Downrate and uprate whenever you feel necessary. We need more 'real' people in here, and less thin-skinned bored ass stay-at-home moms with nothing to do.
  • Perhaps you accidentally clicked the negative point icon instead of the positive one.
  • Downrate and uprate in whatever way you feel you want to. Too many people here are concerned about points. They even get together in little guilds and do nothing but give points to each other. Do it hoever you want, don't worry about what others think.
  • Unlike Yahoo Answers, the DR is used more judiciously here. That is because you have a comment thread to express your opinion. You are not supposed to DR for disagreeing with someone elses opinion. If something is really offensive, you Flag them. If the information is factually incorrect (not helpful) that is what a DR is for. The best way to show your disapproval or opposite stance on an issue is to do so in comments. Welcome to AB! (:
