First of all, don't panic. Many of these lumps are totally benign. I assume you have/will make an appointment with your doctor right away. Take things from there, one step at a time. It is useless to say not to worry only because I think it would be impossible to stop yourself. Just try to keep in mind that there is every chance things will be fine. Talk to a trusted family member of friend. Keep yourself busy until your doctor's appointment. I wish you the very best of luck!

Sorry, I don't know much about breast lumps, but I know a lot about worry: There's no way to know (until your lab results come back) whether what you have is cancer or nothing major. That is just the facts, yes? And we all recognize that worrying doesn't help anything, but we do it anyway... naturally we're concerned about what might be, and the mind fills up with thoughts about the different possibilities, and hopes, and fears, etc. The key thing to do in a situation like this is to just be aware -- to "listen" to your own thoughts and feelings without judging them, clinging to them, trying to make them go away, or otherwise making the tangled web even more tangled. A good technique for this is to count your breaths: just count each inhalation, going from 1 to 10 and then starting over again. Each time you get lost in anxieties and worry, just notice that and return to paying attention to your breathing. This simple practice helps one to "be present" with here-and-now, rather than spinning off into uncontrolled episodes of imagination and anxiety. The key for now is just to be aware and be able to function: just do each task or activity with full attention, pay attention to your breathing, and notice your thoughts and feelings. Your lab results will come back with information, and then you'll do whatever is next based on that. Just one step at a time.

It may not be anything but just to set your mind as ease you should go and see a doctor straight away. I know you must be worried, anyone would be, but don't just sit on it, please. Get checked out just in case.
