Yes there is a proper way to pronounce language letters.

There is no "proper" way to pronounce any langauge. "Standard" varieties of a language generally arise out of who is the richest, strongest, most envied, most cultured, etc. A quote from the book "Languge Myths", this section by linguist Dennis Preston: "Professional linguists are happy with the idea that some varieties of a language are more standard than others; that is a product of social facts. Higher status groups impose their behaviours (including language) on others, claiming theirs are the standard ones. Whether you approve of that or not, the standard variety is selected through purely social processes and not one whit more logic, historical consistency, communicative expressivity or internal complexity or systematically than any other variety. Since every region has its own social stratification, every area also has a a share of both standard and nonstandard speakers." Just because there is a "standard" variety, doesn't mean it is "proper". "Proper" and "correct" have too many connotations attached for them ever to be true. (If it's not correct, it must be wrong. If it's not proper, it must be improper.)

Thats it?? One quote from a non-too famous linguist that even admits that a contrary view to his own has strong basis amongst linguists? Come on. Current english alphabet was coined up by people who believed in standardization of english language, if language evolved as Mr deemikay proposes, we would still be spelling english using old english alphabet. Any stronger arguments???
