    False, it is a biogenic amine. Biogenic amines are a group of amines synthesized in the body which have physiological and pharmacological effects specific for each amine. Prominent biogenic amines include acetylcholine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin.

    I think it's (also) called a monoamine, just like serotonin and histamine. Adrenaline(epi.), noradrenaline(norepi.), dopa and dopamine are called catecholamines. Catecholamines are all made in the adrenal medulla.
    (Maybe biogenic amine means the same as monoamine or is a groupname)
