I wouldn't recommend it. Firstly, you'd have to sand down the outer coating in order to get a rough surface for a primer to adhere to. Most laminate is effectively compressed newspaper with a baked-on urethane finish. If you cut through that finish, you can imagine how easily the rest would fall apart when exposed to ambient humidity, much less a latex paint. You'd be hard-pressed to get an attractive looking finish.
